If you need some extra motivation today, you've come to the right place

From a young age, we are told that we can do anything we put our mind to, but this is not as easy as it sounds. Reaching a goal often requires a lot of hard work, motivation, and effort. It is often easier to fall off the tracks than see it through to the end. When we reach our goal, the new struggle is maintaining that new norm and not going back to our old ways.

The story of how this woman lost over half of her body weight will inspire you to keep reaching for the stars.

At her heaviest, Christine Carter weighed 275 pounds.

The 28-year-old from Dallas, Texas began to pack on the weight when she gave up smoking. She traded one bad habit for another: binge eating. Carter had always been curvy, but she began carrying extra weight on her 5'5" frame and was spending $2000 a month on food just for herself.

She got a major wake-up call when she was reluctantly convinced to go to a family reunion.

Carter said hi to her uncle, and he walked right past her. She had put on so much weight that not even her family recognized her. Carter knew that something had to change.

Two months later, Carter underwent gastric sleeve weight loss surgery.

She lost 50 pounds after the surgery. However, she did not change her lifestyle, and the extra weight began to reaper.

“At that point I realized, I needed to take my life to the next level,” she said. “I saw myself on a billboard for weight loss surgery failures."

She joined a gym, found a trainer, and changed her eating habits.

Soon, the weight began melting off. The small changes and commitments that she made to herself and then fulfilled made her feel more confident.

A year and a half after her journey began, Carter was unrecognizable.

She had lost 150 pounds!

"It’s quite incredible, really,” she admitted to Us Weekly. “When I have those moments that I feel maybe I don’t look as good as I want to, I pull up my ‘before’ pictures and remind myself of how far I’ve come.”

When you look at before and after photos side by side, Carter does not even look like the same person!

The former size 24 now weighs 125 pounds. She lost more weight than she weighs now! She truly looks fantastic and is a shining example of how hard work pays off.

Now, Carter is giving back.

She is in the midst of launching a personal website to help others trying to lose weight. The website will be full of tips and programs that will inspire others to shed the pounds, just like she did!
