With this simple trick, you'll get rid of water retention
An all-natural way of getting rid of water retention in your body.
You know what it's like to wake up in the morning, step onto the scales and all of a sudden, you're 6 or 7 lbs heavier than you usually are, even though you've not eaten much all day? Can a person actually even eat so much that it makes such a huge difference on the scales?
Not usually, no. Such extreme weight fluctuations are often due to water retention. Swelling tends to occur particularly among pregnant women, people who aren't very mobile or as a side effect of some medications. Often this water is noticeable in swollen legs, fingers and joints. It is not only uncomfortable, but also can wear out connective tissue and is commonly associated with permanent weight gain.
But fortunately, water retention, more often than not, has a simple cause and can therefore be solved quite easily. Here you can find out the different reasons why it occurs and what you can to do resolve the problem.
Too much sodium
Salty foods often boost water retention. This is especially the case when you don't drink enough. It's important to be able to rinse out the salt from our bodies. When the body consumes too much salt, it retains water, to be able to keep a healthy balance. In extreme cases, the cells can even grow to be 20 times bigger than normal. Fortunately the solution is quite straightforward: eat less salt and processed foods.
Fast foods and ready made meals often have a much higher concentration of salt to add more taste. This also applies to ready made soups and frozen pizzas. Instead, you should eat fresh vegetables and sauces with small amounts of salt.
Drink too little
Many people still don't drink enough water. When this happens, the body tries to compensate and ends up storing as much water as possible. This leads to water retention. What helps of course is to drink water regularly and sufficiently.
Fundamentally, 8 cups of water is the ideal daily amount. Additionally, it is helpful to eat food with a high water content, such as peppers and cucumbers. The advantage of this is that you get an additional vitamin intake by doing so.
Too little magnesium can also lead to water retention. Our bodies need this mineral for nearly every function. When it is missing, our bodies can't function properly and end up storing water. Luckily, the solution here is also quite simple and delicious.
If you eat fruits such as avocado or consume spinach and yoghurt, then your mangesium levels will go back up and your body will be able to function well again.Wholemeal products and green vegetables of all kinds are rich in magnesium. So all of a sudden, excess skin and extreme weight fluctuations are no longer an issue.
These tips can help swollen cells to reduce back down to normal and water retention to decrease. However, water retention is usually associated with an unhealthy lifestyle. Exercise also helps to reduce water retention and tighten the tissues. If symptoms persist, however, and over a long period of time without there being any real explanation, a doctor should always be consulted.
